This can be a deeply personal answer. I often thought about this years ago and I realised back then that the UK is one of the most diverse countries in in the world. Living in London I met people from countries I had never heard of. I then thought to myself this is a unique opportunity to meet people from different parts of the world whilst also experiencing the UK. So;

Why not use this opportunity to learn about another culture?

Opens up your eyes on how to make the most of the opportunities in the UK

It is important for your emotional wellbeing to live well with those around you

If planning to start a family it equips you with the right tools to raise cultured children

To put it simply, it allows you to understand the behaviour and motivations of people around you. I meet immigrants just like me very often, sharing their confusion with certain behaviours they see either at work or in social settings with British people. You could literally live here for years feeling isolated, confused and angry simply because you have not made the effort to learn and understand your surroundings.
